WHETHER it is flying high in the Royal Air Force or keeping the country warm with British Gas, there is an opportunity for you.
Thousands of people are expected to descend on the Southampton Guildhall tomorrow for the Daily Echo’s annual jobsfair in association with Best Buy.
With almost 30 different exhibitors, the jobsfair could be the start of a promising new career or simply a step in a new direction.
Event organiser Jess Butts said: “The jobsfair is a fantastic opportunity for people to find a whole range of different employers all under one roof.
“It’s not often you get the chance to speak to employers face-to-face from so many different organisations and all on the same day.
“The employers at the event are looking for all kinds of different people to fill roles from apprenticeships to call centre staff.
“This year’s exhibitors range from Hampshire Constabulary to Lloyds TSB and from NHS Direct to Best Buy, this year’s sponsors.
“The jobsfair has always been a hugely popular event and we’re hoping its success continues into 2010 and beyond.”
Electronics retailer Best Buy, which is the first ever sponsors of the Daily Echo event, will soon be opening a new store in Hedge End and looking to recruit new staff.
Susan Finlay, general manager at Best Buy at Hedge End, said: “Supporting recruitment activity on a local level is very important to Best Buy.
“We’re delighted to be involved in the Southern Daily Echo jobsfair and the response from applicants in the area has been very positive.
“We have a number of positions across our Hedge End store available, and we’re looking for good communicators who are keen to learn and are passionate about technology.”
Doors, at the Southampton Guildhall, are open from 10am until 6pm tomorrow. Admission is free.
