THE man tipped to be Britain’s next Prime Minister today made a two-stop visit to Hampshire.
David Cameron visited a training centre and held a question and answer session in front of an audience of more than 150.
The Tory leader’s first port of call was the New Career Skills Ltd Centre in Chandler’s Ford where he was given a guided tour of facilities before quizzing students about the challenges of learning new skills and gaining employment.
Travelling with a large team of aides, Mr Cameron arrived in a luxury silver Lexus and spent around an hour examining the facility, which helps retrain people for new careers as renewable energy engineers, plumbers and electricians.
Afterwards he travelled directly to his second function of the day, staging a Cameron Direct question time in the sports hall of Mountbatten School, Romsey.
During the event, he faced a flurry of questions from residents over issues ranging from the expenses scandal to crime and disorder.
He also outlined his views on the ban on fox hunting, planning laws and education.
