MP Mark Oaten is supporting the campaign to save his local post office in Cheriton.
Mr Oaten, pictured, who lives in nearby Bramdean, is urging people to write to the county council for the retention of the outreach service at the village PO.
The future of the Cheriton service is in question because of the proposed relocation of the Post Office in Alresford, from its current base in West Street to the Co-op store.
Mr Oaten said: “I have seen far too many local post offices disappear. It’s a great pity as they provide a wonderful local service and in Cheriton it complements the wonderful village store.
“It is vital we all shout to keep the service.”
The consultation period closes on Tuesday, February 23. Letters should be sent to Andrew Smith, chief executive at The Castle, Winchester.
The parish council and shop owner Gillian Gray- Knight are backing the campaign.
