A HAMPSHIRE council is continuing its fight to reduce carbon emissions by urging residents to scrap their old boilers.
Gosport Borough Council wants its residents to join the Government’s Boiler Scrappage Scheme to eliminate all inefficient systems from the area.
The Government is offering £400 toward the cost of upgrading 125,000 G-rated boilers with A-rated high-efficiency models, or towards installing renewable heating.
The carbon saving from this equals the removal of 45,000 cars off Britain’s roads and could save residents about £235 a year on energy bills.
But this offer is only available to the first 125,000 eligible households to register. To find out more call 0800 512 012.
