A GROUP of Hampshire children staged a Caribbean day to help victims of the Haiti earthquake disaster.
More than 200 pupils at Marchwood Infant School wore grass skirts, put flowers in their hair and ate tropical dishes such as pizza with pineapple.
Teachers and office staff at the school also took part in the event, which netted more than £350.
Pupils at Wildground Infant School in Dibden Purlieu also helped the Haiti earthquake appeal by holding a jumble sale that raised £342.
Jumble left over at the end of the event will be sold at the British Heart Foundation shop in Shirley, Southampton.
• AN all you can eat dinner in aid of the Haiti appeal will be held at the POSH Restaurant in Southampton next Friday.
Local girl band Afrodisiac will be performing at the fundraising dinner, which starts at 7pm at the restaurant on Queen’s Way.
Tickets cost £10 per head and all money raised will go to the appeal. All donations for raffle prizes will be appreciated.
Tickets can either be bought on the night or through Aurelio Bello on 07921 404079.
