IT could provide the money to help keep the boxing club alive and kids off the street.
The Golden Ring Boxing Club in Southampton is set to apply for a grant from the Daily Echo and Sport Relief Community Cash fund.
If successful, the money could help the Millbrook-based club pay for new punch bags and gloves for youngsters who can’t afford them.
The Daily Echo has teamed up with Sport Relief to give away £62,000 in grants of between £500 and £1,000 to organisations working in the city.
To qualify, groups simply have to be working in a disadvantaged area and have an income of less than £50,000 a year.
