POLICE say a missing man they are trying to find may be sleeping rough in a Hampshire town.
Andrew King, 36, went missing from his Gosport home on Wednesday, January 27, and has not been in touch with friends or family since.
He was last seen wearing a green coat, cream coloured combat trousers and black boots, and carrying a rucksack and dark blue sleeping bag. He is of slim build and has dark brown hair.
Inspector Kevin Cuffe said: “We know that Mr King has gone missing before and on those occasions he camped out and returned home of his own volition.
“We know that he has taken outdoors equipment with him this time, so it is most likely his intention to do the same thing again.
“There is nothing to suggest that any harm has come to Mr King but he has never been missing for as long as this before, so naturally we would like to hear from him.
“We believe he may be camping in woods in the Rowner or Browndown area, so we would also like to hear from people who think they may have seen a rough sleeper in those areas.”
Anyone with any information about Mr King’s whereabouts should contact police in Gosport on 0845 045 4545.
