BOMB disposal experts have carried out two controlled explosions on a suspicious car dumped near Ministry of Defence land in Hampshire.
Police closed roads around Monxton near Andover at around 12.50pm today as they carried out the explosions on the green Rover coupe which was abandoned on Monxton Road last night.
A police spokeswoman said the vehicle, abandoned around 7.45pm yesterday, had been deemed “suspicious” and bomb experts from Salisbury were called in to check the vehicle.
Roads around the area were closed shortly before midday as controlled explosions were carried out. The A303 near Andover was also closed as a precaution for around ten minutes while the military operation was carried out.
All routes have now been reopened.
