WHO needs Simon Cowell?
Certainly not youngsters at one Hampshire school who stepped in front of the microphone to help save lives.
Following in the footsteps of their pop heroes, these talented pupils at Hook with Warsash Primary School have recorded their own charity CD for Haiti.
Earlier this week Cheryl Cole, Rod Stewart and Leona Lewis, with the help of Simon Cowell, pictured right, released a charity single for Haiti, a cover of the REM hit Everybody Hurts.
But with help from their music teacher Mark Baxter, the school produced their single Take My Hand in just days.
Mr Baxter said: “Simon Cowell may have the big names but these children are stars and ours is an original, his is a cover version.”
The school hopes to raise more than £1,000 for the Haiti Appeal.
Take My Hand is on sale now for £2.50. Call the school on 01489 572393.
