IT was meant to be a celebration of one of the biggest matches in Saints’ recent history.
But members of a Southampton youth club have been denied the chance to watch today’s Saints vs Pompey FA Cup clash after thieves stole their TV.
Youngsters at Thornhill Youth Centre had planned to meet up and watch the match but a group of thieves smashed a window to steal a 37 inch flat screen from the premises.
The day the TV was stolen, a group of six men was seen running toward a woodland area close to the Post Office In Thornhill Park Road.
Centre manager Karen Moth, who works for Hampshire Youth Options, said: “We had planned to screen the Saints versus Pompey game but now the youngsters have been robbed of that chance.
“It’s the consequences of the actions of a few people which have spoiled it for the majority.”
Anyone who may have witnessed the theft or have any information can contact Hampshire Police. Anyone who may be able to help with a new TV can call the centre on 023 8046 2860.
