A SOUTHAMPTON woman bombarded police with false complaints that she had been harassed by a security guard she had met at college.
Allegra Frazer, 31, told them Kieron Awcock was stalking her and had sent letters threatening her and her baby.
When police dismissed one allegation because of a lack of evidence, she told them: “Do I have to get hurt before you take them seriously.”
Within 36 hours, she contacted them again, claiming his younger brother, Jamie, had forced his way into her home, pinned her against a wall and slashed her across the face and body with a Stanley knife.
Southampton Crown Court heard that during the police investigation, the brothers were arrested and held in custody for questioning before being released. Prosecutor Adam Feest told jurors a doctor thought the injuries were self inflicted and police set up a special observation with a camera focused on her front door without telling her. When she complained she had received four more letters, the footage only revealed her and her family coming and going.
Mr Feest added: “The allegations were completely fabricated.”
Frazer, of Vanguard Road, Bitterne, Southampton, was convicted of two counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Recorder Llewellyn Sellick initially granted her bail but that was withdrawn after she threatened to kill PC Rachel Gallimore, the officer in the case, and Keiron Awcock. Dock officer Lynn Stevens told the court Frazer had been upset at the verdict and had then pointed her hand towards the officer and threatened to kill her.
“She said she had lost everything and she might as well kill herself. She said she would kill Mr Awcock.”
Frazer admitted she had been upset but denied making any threats.
The judge told Frazer he was satisfied she had made the remarks and remanded her in custody for sentence.
Kieron Awcock, 31, said he first met Frazer at Southampton city college where he worked as a security officer and she was a student.
They became friends but he said he never wanted a sexual relationship and had never threatened her.
However he had been served with a six month injunction to keep away from her.
