WAS Nick Jennings flushed with success on day four of the Pontin’s junior snooker festival?
Was it because the 18-year-old had dropped his first frame in 20 against Shahrukh Nasir (Birmingham)?
Was it because of the close attentions of girlfriend Chloe?
Or was it because of over exposure on a sun bed?
North Wales woke to the incessant and mildly irritating screech of the sea gulls mingled with the sound of distant church bells.
Dan Hildyard decided to partake of an early morning stroll in a bid to mentally and physically prepare himself for the task ahead.
He potted one ball in his first frame.
Today is the last day for qualifying. Nick, Shane Castle, Jordan Winbourne and Adam Bobat are all looking good for Wednesday’s knockout.
Adam’s 62 is our highest break of the week.
Jordan beat Hannah Jones again – the first frame on the black and the second on the pink.
Scott Danson picked up a third win and could make the last 32. Bouwe Bosma needs a couple of results today.
Dan Hildyard and Daniel Woods are in with a shout in the under-21s. Daniel picked up the result of the day – a 1-1 draw against Liam Highfield which ended at 11pm.
Billy Castle continues to pick away at the group of death. He beat Danny Douane and Callum Downing but lost to Scottish number one Anthony McGill.
Ollie Tydeman notched up a win, three draws and a 59 clearance.
Jason Hildyard is still searching for a first win even after a visit to ‘Jason’s Table’ – table 16 down in the dungeon. Ben Courcha lost a re-spotted black in his search for a first frame.
Alas, there is one sad piece of news. After nearly 15 hours snooker, the reconvened AGM of Snooker Dads Anonymous had to be adjourned until Tuesday. Derek Castle yet again sent his apologies.
On a brighter note, Mark Dwyer, our Gloucester delegate, was spotted talking to himself in Lunars.
