SOUTHAMPTON’S geothermal heating network will be extended to a major new city residential development today.
Residents of the Gantry development, a block of 115 flats being built next to The Mayflower theatre, will have their energy bills cut by about ten per cent.
The £650,000 expansion of the city’s district energy scheme will save 190 tonnes of carbon emissions each year.
The scheme annually saves a total of 11,000 tonnes of CO2.
