A DRIVER has been trapped in her car after leaving the road and crashing into a tree by the side of a lake.
Specialist fire crews are trying to free the female motorist after the incident on the B3055 near Sway in the New Forest.
The woman has been trapped in her vehicle by a tree, but the rescue operation has been made more difficult because the car is in a precarious position by the side of a lake, near the junction with Barrows Lane.
Two pump engines from Lymington, a special equipment unit with enhanced cutting capabilities and a multi role vehicle have all been sent to the scene.
The incident happened at around 9.10am today. It is not known if the motorist, who was the only person in the car, has sustained any serious injuries.
No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.
