TWO men have been left with facial injuries after being attacked while on a night out in Southampton.

Police are hunting three men in connection with the assault which happened in the early hours of this morning.

The two victims flagged down a passing police car at around 2.15am in the city centre.

They told officers they had been attacked in the area of West Marlands Road, close to Guildhall Square.

One of the men suffered facial injuries and is being treated in Southampton General Hospital The other had minor cuts and bruises.

The men also told police they had been attacked earlier in the evening at a bar in Above Bar Street and that door staff had intervened.

Police want to speak to three men in connection with the incident, the first is described as mixed race, 22 to 23 years old, slim build with short black – possibly curly- hair and around 1.7m tall.

The second is described as white, 23 years old, 1.8m tall, slim build with dark blond ear-length hair. The third is described as white 22 to 23 years old, 1.75m tall with short, straight, black hair.
