A VAN driver tried to cajole a teenage boy into his vehicle and threatened him when he refused.

A 13-year-old boy was on Badger Farm Road on the outskirts of Winchester when a white van pulled up, close to the roundabout near Sainsbury’s at about 9.25pm on Sunday. The van was large, box-shaped with black, chunky wing mirrors.

The driver twice asked the boy if he wanted a lift home. When the boy refused the man became more aggressive, ordering him into the van. The boy then rode off and the van drove away.

Det Sgt Chris Buse, of Winchester CID, said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this van and its driver in the area.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have had something similar happen to them.”
