POLICE investigating a woman’s death are refusing to say what type of accident caused her injuries.

Detectives launched a murder inquiry after Jennifer Hurl, 43, was found at her home in Cadhay Close, New Milton, on Monday afternoon.

She had suffered serious head injuries and died six hours later in Southampton General Hospital.

Police sealed off her home and a 42-year-old man – believed to be her partner – was arrested on suspicion of murder. Yesterday detectives announced that he had been released without any further action after inquiries showed that Ms Hurl’s death was the result of a tragic accident.

However a police spokesman refused to reveal the nature of the accident.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding Ms Hurl’s death and were still at her mid-terrace home yesterday.

Several police cars and vans were parked outside the house, where she had lived for only a few weeks.

Det Insp Nick Heelan had earlier issued a statement saying that all unexpected deaths were fully investigated.

He added: “After conducting extensive enquiries into Ms Hurl’s death, from all the evidence gathered and the outcome of the post-mortem, everything indicates that this death is the result of a very tragic accident.”
