THEY may have already finished their GCSEs, but these students have all gone back to junior school – to work as lunchtime supervisors.
Four teenagers from Taunton’s College in Southampton have landed paid jobs at nearby Shirley Junior School, as part of an innovative education initiative.
Having gone through a full interview process, which included the head teachers of Wordsworth and Hollybrook infant schools as well as Christine Bulmer from Shirley Junior, they were chosen as supervisory assistants to help out at lunchtimes.
It is hoped that the group – from left, Laura Black, Nathaniel Allen and Zack Kaye – will gain vital experience to help them towards careers in teaching, while providing good role models for the pupils.
