DETECTIVES will tonight make a nationwide appeal to find a teenager who allegedly stabbed a man in a Hampshire street.
Jordan Attwood has been on the run for several months after failing to appear in court to face charges over the attack.
The victim suffered wounds to his cheek, shoulder and back following the stabbing in Romsey Road more than a year ago.
Attwood was eventually found and arrested in September last year and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm. He was due before magistrates in Southampton on November 5 but failed to appear.
It’s believed he had been mistakenly released from custody just a short time before that when he appeared before a crown court in London concerning other matters – and has evaded capture ever since.
His face even appeared in the Daily Echo’s annual crime-busting calendar which is run throughout December in conjunction with Southampton police to help find wanted people.
Using a street name of “Dreps”
and an alias of Jordan Wilding, Attwood is known to have connections with Southampton.
Police say he was in the city on January 8 last year when the stabbing took place, leaving the victim hospitalised by his injuries. Now detectives from Shirley CID are turning to a national TV appeal in the hope of tracing him.
Tonight his face will appear on Crimewatch as part of the programme’s most wanted people section.
Detective Sergeant Bryan Carter said: “We are keen that this man is brought before the court and dealt with as soon as possible. He has been on the run for a year and needs to be brought to justice.”
Anyone with information about Attwood and his whereabouts is asked to contact Shirley CID on 101 or ring the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
