ANOTHER ward at Southampton General Hospital has been closed to new admissions following an outbreak of a winter diarrhoea and vomiting bug.

The closure brings the number of wards that have shut to four with 11 patients and two staff currently affected by the norovirus bug.

Visitors are being urged to stay away if they have suffered from diarrhoea or vomiting during the previous 72 hours.

Visitors are also being reminded to wash their hands carefully before and after visiting a clinical ward area.
