FIREFIGHTERS rushed to a Hampshire hospital early today after a drama on a ward.
Three appliances and a special equipment unit went to the Royal South Hants Hospital, Southampton, at about 2am after a fire broke out in a bin on St Marys Ward.
Hospital staff tackled the fire with extinguishers and the fire crews ventilated the shower/toilet room and a hallway.
Patients did not have to be evacuated and crews were on the scene for about half an hour.
