YOUNGSTERS helped to give a campaign to save wild birds a flying start at Marwell Wildlife near Winchester.
They put together some collection boxes at Marwell Hall next to the zoo for the ‘Flight’ campaign.
It aims to provide a new nature reserve next to the zoo to provide a habitat for woodland birds.
The 35-hectare reserve could provide a home for cuckoos, bullfinches, redwings, red kites and others. If all goes to plan, it will open in spring 2011.
