Police have issued a new appeal for murder suspect Anthony Marsh to give himself up.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Mathews directly pleaded with Marsh to hand himself into the nearest police station.
He also called on the anyone who has used public transport over the last two days and may have seen him to get touch.
Det Chief Insp Mathews further called on taxi drivers and people who may have used the New Forest National Park and may have witnesses anything suspcisous to call police.
In a statement read out to a press conference yesterday the officer said: “The summary of events are that police were called to 28 Myrtle Avenue in Totton near Southampton at 9.05am yesterday morning where the bodies of Stephanie Bellinger and her ten-month-old daughter Lili were discovered by a relative. The case is a tragedy for all concerned and my thoughts and those of the entire investigation team are with the family of the deceased persons.
“As you will all probably know we have identified 21-year-old Anthony Marsh as the suspect for the murders and it is paramount that we trace Mr Marsh as soon as possible. To do this we are seeking the support and assistance of the public and the media.
“I would repeat that we consider Mr Marsh to be a dangerous man who should not be approached by the public. We have reason to believe that he may be in possession of a knife.
"We know Mr Marsh uses the rail network and has in the past visited towns and cities across the south of England notably Plymouth, Bristol, Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Brighton.
“Have you used the local or national rail network over the past two days and if so have you seen someone matching Mr Marsh description on a train?
“If you have travelled on other forms of public transport in the past few days have you seen Mr Marsh?
“If you are a taxi driver have you carried him as a passenger?
“Mr Marsh has also been known to take a long walks within the New Forest National Park and had a favourite spot he liked to visit.
"It is between Lyndhurst and Bournemouth and known locally as the Devil’s Dyke near Burley.
“If you are dog walker, a horse rider or someone else who has visit the New Forest during the past few days, have you seen someone matching Mr Marsh’s description.
“We also know Mr Marsh has been known to sleep in churches over night. Have you seen him going or coming out of a church in your neighbourhood during the past two days?
“If you are a friend, has he been in contact with you or have you seen him? If so please get in touch with us as a matter or urgency.
Finally I make an appeal to Mr Marsh directly to walk into his nearest police station and give himself up.”
