A FATHER and son arrested in connection with the murder of a Hampshire-born plasterer who was stabbed to death have been released without charge.
Steven Murphy was found with a single stab wound to the chest at his home in Norfolk, just seven months after moving there from Southampton.
Since the 45-year-old’s body was found by his mother on October 1 last year, detectives have launched investigations both in Norfolk and South-|ampton, where his 15-year-old daughter still lives.
Police have been questioning the two men over the weekend.
The younger man, a 27-year-old from Blackpool, was arrested on suspicion of murder as he arrived at Heathrow Airport in London.
His 53-year-old father, from Scotland, was arrested later in Blackpool, on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.
Det Chief Insp Jes Fry, who is leading the inquiry, said: “The Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Major Investigation Team has been investigating the murder of Steven Murphy and questioning two males during the weekend.
“Both males have been released on bail to return in April, and there is a whole raft of other inquiries to follow.”
