SAINTS have sold out their entire allocation of tickets for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final.
More than 44,000 supporters will now back the team at Wembley, when they face Carlisle, on Sunday, March 28.
The club announced at 1pm yesterday that the last of the tickets had been sold.
It has only taken just over two weeks to shift them.
After season ticket holders and people on Saints’ database who had attended the area final against MK Dons had their opportunity to buy tickets, there were less than 4,000 left.
Those went on sale to remaining fans on the database yesterday morning, and disappeared within four-and-a-half hours.
Phone lines were jammed and fans struggled to get onto the online booking system, with huge numbers of people wanting to be part of Saints’ first Wembley appearance in 18 years.
But thousands of others desperate to go have been left without a ticket, and their anger and frustration is exacerbated, as there are expected to be about 20,000 empty seats at the match.
As revealed in the Daily Echo, the Football League are unable to give them to Saints, due to segregation issues.
