IT rained and it poured but that didn't stop thousands of fans grabbing their ponchos and singing their hearts out in front of some of the biggest stars in pop at the 11th Power in the Park on Southampton Common yesterday.
The 30,000 capacity event wasn't a sell out, but as the grey clouds loomed above, the fans that had turned out made their voices heard.
This year's event included performances by R'n'B hunk Lemar, pop princess Rachel Stevens, Brit rock kids Rooster and former Spice Girl Mel C.
The biggest stars of the show, though, were Southampton's very own pop superstar Craig David and the most photographed celebrity face around Charlotte Church, who was performing her first live gig since ditching her clean-cut choir girl image.
There were a few surprises too for fans with performances by 80's legends Bananarama and Chesney Hawkes, who got one of the biggest cheers of the four-hour long music party when he performed I Am The One And Only. Portsmouth's Noise Next Door also appeared.
As expected, there were no reported incidents of trouble by police.
