WHEN we were younger, my sister and I were obsessed with TV show Fame.
So, as you can imagine, it was with much anticipation that I went along to Fame the Musical, which is currently on a national tour.
If you're expecting to recognise character's names, storylines and even songs from the past, you're going to be disappointed. Leroy, Cocoa et al have been replaced with Serenna, Carmen, Tyronne and others all struggling to make a name for themselves in the Performing Arts School.
We watch them go from auditioning to get into the school through to graduation day - and it's okay. The cast obviously enjoy themselves and, the audience around me seemed to like it, too.
However, I missed my friends - the real kids from Fame singing the songs I know and love, although I danced to the final scene - the cast belting out Fame while leaping off a yellow taxi.
