LYMINGTON & New Milton are lodging an appeal with the FA about the ground-grading farce that threatens to cost them promotion from the Sydenhams Wessex League.
The New Forest club are fuming that the official who carried out Sunday's second inspection, Brian King, just happens to be the secretary of the Hellenic League, whose second-placed club, Didcot Town, would be involved in promotion play-offs if the Linnets are denied.
King found fault with three elements of the Linnets' Fawcett's Field home - the hard-standing behind the dug-outs, no housing around the new turnstile and lack of seats in the dug-out.
But Linnets chairman John Mills is adamant all three issues have been addressed and has been told by the FA's Mike Appleby that they have the right to appeal.
That means Saturday's play-off between Enfield and Wessex runners-up Winchester City may have to hold, along with a possible Didcot v Walton Casuals tie.
