Sir.-We write with reference to the new Malls.
In our opinion, Festival Place is for the younger and better off.
Why not make The Malls more like a high street, with small shops - e.g. butcher's, grocer's, delicatessen and haberdasher?
Also, it could include an English-style tea shop and fish and chip shop.
These sorts of shops would be ideal for the less well-off.
And how about a market in the square outside Wilkinson's?
We find Festival Place very cold and impersonal.
We prefer to go to Andover for our shopping, as we feel it is far more friendly. It also has a twice-weekly market.
