AN afternoon of nostalgia and reminiscence is on offer at the Regent theatre in Christchurch, with We'll Gather Lilacs on Friday.
The show, starring classically trained soprano Jayne May-Sysum, is a celebration of the British ability to keep chins up and join together in adversity through songs from the war.
Jayne May-Sysum evokes all the memories of the past as she sings classics from Dame Vera Lynn, Nat King Cole, Ivor Novello and Hoagy Carmichael.
She can usually be found as a guest soloist for such prestigious orchestras as the Vivaldi Concertante and the Warwickshire Symphony Orchestra, with her work taking her into operetta and musical theatre.
Her accompanist will be Chris Wiltshire, who is the official accompanist for the Birmingham Music Festival.
Tickets £8. Box office: 01202 499148.
