PLANS to tighten security at a Hampshire college have been supported by the police.
St Vincent College in Gosport is undertaking a £14,000 project to extend closed-circuit TV coverage around the 12 and a half acre site.
The move has been prompted following a spate of vandalism that resulted in more than 100 windows being broken in the past year alone.
Hampshire Police Authority has agreed to give the college £3,000 towards the cost of installing the extra cameras for the site on Mill Lane which, along with the sixth form college, is home to a leisure centre and adult learning centre.
