ENVIRONMENTAL Rock 2005 is Southampton's third annual all-day environmental awareness and entertainment event.
And it's on today!
This event is a combination of the best local bands who are determined to deliver a message on the environment.
It's taking place at the Hobbit pub in Bevois Valley from 12 noon until 6pm.
The focus of this year's event is how to allow people to make informed decisions when buying everyday products.
This includes household items such as washing up liquids, soaps, cosmetics, fruit and vegetables, other foodstuffs, stationary, books, clothing and many other products.
They'll be live music from local bands including Loads of Vertigo, The Velleities, Dry Eye Senario and For the Fever, with acoustic duos on the terrace.
The Hobbit pub has a large pub garden for the rockfest but there will be other entertainment and workshops for all ages will include juggling, making recycled greetings cards, face painting, Morris dancing and quizzes. A variety of suitably themed environmental prizes will be available for competition winners.
Funding for the event is kindly being provided by Student Community Action (SCA), a department of Southampton University Students' Union (SUSU).
Entry will be free and open to all whether you are a student or a locals.
The Mayor of Southampton will also be attending the event.
