AN elderly Andover couple who were rescued from a blaze at their River Way home are said to be making good progress in hospital.
Pensioners Maria and Thomas O'Callaghan, of Bourne Court, were both admitted to hospital after the blaze, suffering from burns.
Mrs O'Callaghan remains in the St Andrews Burns and Plastics Unit of Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.
A hospital spokeswoman said: "Mrs O'Callaghan is stable, but will stay in the intensive treatment unit because of the nature of her burns."
Her husband has been transferred from Winchester's Royal Hampshire County Hospital to Andover War Memorial Hospital. He is said to be making a good recovery in the hospital's Kingfisher Ward.
