A Winchester pub has become the first in the city to go smoke-free.
From Sunday, the Green Man in Southgate Street will ban puffing within the premises.
Those who cannot resist the lure of a sly cigarette will be banished outside to the pub's courtyard area. Landlord Geoff Lugger said: "We are looking forward to welcoming customers who don't want to go home with clothes and hair reeking of smoke."
The move has been praised by Winchester City Council and the NHS, who are supporting the Smoke Free Eating and Drinking Scheme.
The Dog & Crook in Bambridge near Colden Common will go smoke-free from June 1
