THE Stroud School U11 Girls Hockey Team represented Hampshire in the South Girls tournament at Woking recently, and are now set to represent the South of England at the National finals in Nottingham on 15th May.
The girls won matches against St Andrews from Sussex, Marlow from Buckinghamshire and Wallingford from Oxfordshire.
In the semi-finals the Stroud girls beat Teddington School from Middlesex 2-1 on penalties, with keeper Zoe Rogers in fine form.
In the final match of Sunday's tournament the Stroud team beat Thomas School from Surrey 1-0.
After receiving their gold medals as Regional finalists, the girls said that they are really excited at the prospect of representing the South of England next month in the National Final.
