THEY were about to embark on the climb of their lives but these intrepid fundraisers still found time to express their support to the Save the Hythe Ferry campaign.
Sonja Davison and several other supporters of the Jubilee sailing Trust are backing the campaign to throw the ancient Hythe Ferry a vital lifeline.
Sonja, 49, of Campbell Road, Eastleigh, told the Daily Echo: "Many Jubilee Sailing Trust volunteers are from the Waterside and New Forest area and they use the ferry to get to our ships, where they carry out maintenance work. Today for instance they are here to help with the mast climb.
"They cannot do without the ferry and it is very important that it should be saved."
The volunteers pictured all took part in the mammoth climb up the 100ft mast of the purpose-built tall ship, Lord Nelson.
They were raising money for the trust which offers adventure sailing holidays to able-bodied and disabled people.
