SALISBURT and District match secretary Paul Barnard topped a run of huge weights from Mike Smith's Hordle Complex in The Nigel Turner/AWD Wealth Management Sunday Series.
He weighed in 104lb 6oz of carp to 8lb from Willow Lake fishing pole and pellet in open water.
The victory was from the unfancied lake and peg which made the it even more special.
Nathan Fox was second with 101lb 9oz, and Bournemouth Lodge colleague, veteran Ivor Brittain, third with 97lb 14oz of feeder-caught carp. Chris Albiston (Bournemouth Lodge) was fourth with 88lb 12oz of carp.

The Saturday Open at Greenridge saw canals three and four, plus the main lake used with Pete Newman (Poingdestres) taking 80lb 15oz of carp to 10lb on pole, band and pellet from the golden peg to pick up a massive £360 in prize money.
Paul Barnard (Salisbury) finished right behind with 77lb 4oz of carp to 17lb on pole and pellet from the main lake with Mick Kenny (Greenridge) third with 69lb 6oz from peg 24 on Canal three.

The Stoneham evening match saw Homestores Select's Ray Hayward win with 42lb 2oz of skimmers and tench, plus a 15lb carp on the waggler from peg 27 for a comfortable victory over Mark Brown, who finished second with five carp and skimmers for 35lb 6oz. Graham Tappenden (Homestores Sensas) was third with 28lb 2oz with teammate Paul Sears fourth with 26lb 2oz and Gary Naylor (Kings Toyota) fifth with 22lb 12oz.
Petersfield and District AC are to hold a teams-of-four open match on Saturday, May 28 on the Health Lake at Petersfield with an 8am draw (fishing 9am-3pm, entry £80 per team). Big weights of bream are expected to dominate. For details phone Ken Law on 02392 261704.
Thirty-three of the top game fishing boats in the Caribbean arrived in the tropical paradise of Tobago for the 25th anniversary of the Trinidad and Tobago International Game Fishing Tournament - and left firmly put in their place by Daily Echo Correspondant's Mark Simmonds Grand Slam II captained by Kester Herbert.
Their 32-foot Bowen with twin 150 mercury's and crew turned out to be more than a match for the rest, despite boats of up to 56 feet and worth up to three million US dollars competing.
Simmonds was joined for the competition by London angler Paul Jenkins while crew member Kevin Charles, Tyrone Hercules, Kester Herbert and Herbert's eight year old son Darion completed the team. Darion won the award for the top junior.
