A NEW online guide to Winchester raised £200 for a local charity at its launch.
The website, 01962.com was launched at the Albion pub in Stockbridge Road.
Entertainment was provided by Winchester-based acts including comedians Richard and David, whose show Scraping the Barrel has been running at the city's Theatre Royal.
Ben Burrows, of The Jumbo Boomers and brother of Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows, gave an acoustic performance, and barbershop quartet For Chord's Sake rounded off the evening.
A raffle of champagne donated by Kingsgate Wines and Provisions raised £100 for the Magpie Cancer Care Appeal, at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital.
The total amount was doubled by Steve Ormrod and Ross Mackay, directors of Winchester Events.
James Jaggers, projects and events director for 01962.com, said: "All of the performers were brilliant. We're really pleased with the total raised."
