A SPEED boat came adrift - not in the water but on one of Hampshire's busiest motorways.
Emergency services sped to the scene on the M27, on the westbound carriageway near junction seven at Hedge End, after reports that the boat had suddenly dropped anchor in the outside lane.
Motorway signs warned drivers to slow down because there was debris in the outside lane.
Luckily the drama did not cause any accidents or major traffic hold-ups.
A Hampshire Police spokesman said: "The speed boat came off the lorry.
"Fortunately it was soon recovered and the whole thing was over extremely quickly."
