AN EXHIBITION commemorating life at sea is due to be launched at Southampton's Maritime Museum tomorrow.
The exhibition will be officially opened by Doug Morrison, course director at Associated British Ports, and will form part of Southampton's contribution to the "Sea Britain" events going on across Hampshire this year to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
Among the priceless exhibits on display at the exhibition are a recently discovered letter, dated October 25, 1805, written by a sailor who took part in the epic battle which claimed the life of Admiral Lord Nelson.
Other exhibits include a framed Jolly Roger Flag, a fisherman's whale-tooth chess set and a walrus tusk.
The Maritime Museum is at the corner of Bugle Street and Quay Road, Southampton and is open from Tuesday to Sunday every week. Admission is free.
For opening times and more information, call the museum on 023 8063 5904.
