BASINGSTOKE Breast Cancer self help group: Will next meet on Tuesday, from 7pm to 9pm, in the conference room at The Ark, behind Basingstoke hospital.
The group meets monthly, and at the next meeting the speaker will be a lead cancer nurse.
Responsible for publicity for the group is Ann Vickery, telephone 01256 358646.
She explains that the group can help and support women who have or have had breast cancer.
The group has been meeting for more than a year and is now in its second year.
Members raise money for charity. For example, a ball held in Oakley raised £10,000.
Other events for raising funds include a barn dance in Dummer and a collection outside Wilkinsons in the town centre.
A guest speaker at a group meeting was Kevin Harris, who is a breast surgeon, and it is hoped he will come again.
The group allows women to meet and become friendly with other women who have experience of breast cancer.
Discussions are confidential within the group and members may attend when they wish.
TABLE top sale: Will be held at Christ The King Church, next to ASDA, on Saturday, May 14, from 2pm to 4pm.
The cost of hiring a table will be £5. Refreshments will be provided.
