OLYMPIC medallist Rob Hayles, pictured, returns to Hampshire in June to open Winchester's annual celebration of cycling.
The Bike Fair and Cycle Cavalcade is the local event marking National Bike Week, from June 11-17.
Rob, originally from Portsmouth, recently won two gold medals at the World Championships in Los Angeles.
He will launch the event on Saturday June 11 at 10am, outside Marks & Spencer in the High Street.
Visitors will be able to try a variety of bikes and equipment as well as talk to members of local cycling clubs and get information on cycle hire, cycle training, safety and rides in Winchester.
There will be a display of Victorian bikes and a demonstration of aerial display stunts by the Buttercross.
The cycle cavalcade will start at 11am and travel around the city centre.
Other cycling activities in and around Winchester includes the VC Venta Cycle Slalom Challenge on June 11 for youngsters under 13 years at the River Park Leisure Centre.
There is also a Back to Biking for Adults refresher session on Wednesday June 15.
A cycle ride of 12-15 miles along disused railway tracks around Winchester which ends with a visit to the Chesil Tunnel has also been organised by the Cycle Touring Club.
