COLDEN Common will be crowned Division 3 champions if they can secure a point from their final game of the season at Fleetlands tomorrow evening following Saturday's 4-2 home win against Overton United.
Only third-placed Hayling United, who drew 1-1 with second-placed Farnborough North End, can overtake the Commoners if they win their last five remaining fixtures and Common lose at Fleetlands.
Jim Hart crossed for Dean Higgins and Richard Lang to put Common 2-0 up inside eight minutes before Hart's through ball released Lang who rounded the keeper for number three.
Lee Chambers pulled one back for Overton before Lang completed his hat-trick from a Higgins cross, with the visitors grabbing a second on the final whistle.
"The other results have gone brilliantly for us, now we just need to finish it off tomorrow evening," smiled Common boss Nigel Light.
Dan Hayes gave Hayling United a 76th-minute lead against long-term league leaders Farnborough North End, who grabbed a last-minute equaliser through Steve Lloyd.
A Chris Smith goal condemned Hampshire Intermediate Cup finalists Otterbourne to their second 1-0 away defeat of the week at Clanfield, while Yateley Green's 6-0 reverse at Laverstock & Ford means the basement battlers have now shipped 205 goals this season.
