Third-placed Gosport threw away a 2-0 lead and were held 2-2 by Wimborne Town, who missed out on all three points when 'Boro keeper Colin Matthews saved a last-minute penalty.
Neil Scammell (46) and Graham Lindsey (51) put the home side ahead only for the Magpies to strike back through Stuart Cannie (56) and Marcus Oldbury (82) before Warren Doyle saw his last-gasp spot kick saved.
