COWES Under-18s became the first Island side to win the Hampshire Youth League Cup when they beat Winchester 3-1 at Gosport yesterday.
Now the Cowes youngsters will be aiming for a double celebration when they tackle Winchester again in the final of the Hampshire Youth County Cup at Totton next Sunday (2pm ko).
Cowes had to come from a goal down at half-time to claim the League Cup.
First Chris Elliott played a slick one-two with Shaun Taylor on the edge of the penalty area before firing the equaliser.
Ten minutes later Taylor swivelled neatly to shoot Cowes in front and, 15 minutes from time, Charlie Smeeton netted with a header from a corner.
Smeeton also hit the post as the Cowes side, managed by Andy Sampson, dominated the second half.
