DUSTMEN manning refuse carts in the Kennet area of Wiltshire will keep working during bank holidays following a decision by the district council.
As from the May Day bank holiday, on 2 May, residents' waste will be collected on the usual day without any changes.
It means if the usual waste collection day is a Monday, waste will be collected on the bank holiday Monday.
If the usual collection day is a Tuesday, waste collection day will continue to be a Tuesday and will remain the same throughout the week.
Mark Smith, the council's environment and amenity services manager, said: "There has always been an element of confusion about waste collection during a bank holiday week.
