PEOPLE living in a Romsey suburb are being asked to take a united stance in a bid to improve the area's infrastructure.
Great Woodley Residents' Association says it is vital people to stand up and be counted in the fight for better facilities.
Some improvements have already been made to a footpath linking Woodley Lane with Bransley Close but more work is needed, says the association. Association chairman, Richard Barry, said: "The infrastructure of the estate has had very little money invested since it was built more than 30 years ago."
He called for residents to pass on their concerns about the estate to the committee."
Mr Barry added: " There is a promise of streetlamp pillar replacement this summer and also the long overdue resurfacing of some garage forecourts. This work has only been put in place following significant lobbying by a small but dedicated committee, but in our opinion it still falls short of improving the appearance and safety of the estate to an acceptable standard following many years of neglect."
Next Wednesday's AGM of the association will be held at Cupernham Infant School in Bransley Close. The meeting starts at 7.30pm and a representative from Hampshire's trading standards team will be attending. He or she will be talking about consumer rights and doorstep sales officials.
