THE UNDER-16 netball team from the Mountbatten School, Language & Sports College have just finished a very successful season.
For the second year in succession, Mountbatten have been crowned champions of the Eastleigh, Winchester and District league. The team also won the 'Versatility' tournament, in which every player plays in a different position for each game in the tournament.
The talented squad of players, Emma Anderson, Georgina Barton, Luisa Citrone, Joanne Dunkason, Hannah Gale, Rebecca Gover, Kerry Jones, Stephanie Lobb, Melissa Mills, Kirsty Taylor and Catherine Whittall, are to be congratulated for their hard work, commitment and dedication. Their performance and talent as individuals and as a team were superb; they won every one of their eleven league matches.
Credit must also go to Mrs Anne Clark, coach at Fleming Netball Club, for her contribution and support for the team. Mrs Hunter, teacher in charge of netball at Mountbatten said: "They have been a magnificent team all the way through the school and I will be devastated when they leave."
