Winchester'S theatre Royal is reaching out to the more rural areas of the district.
The theatre has now taken over management of the Winchester Rural Youth Theatre (WRYT).
Workshops and classes will be available to youngsters in Denmead, Waltham Chase, Alresford, Stanmore and Swanmore in addition to the city centre.
Fiona Burn, chief executive of the theatre, said the move, which is being part-funded by Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council, "demonstrates that the theatre is not only for the city centre but is also extremely active in myriad outreach projects throughout the district".
Groups involved with the theatre will get the chance to perform at the city's Hat Fair in July.
