THE Cormorants Club match fished at Longbridge Lakes saw great weights - especially as the competition followed several nights of frosts.
Clive Egerton drew the golden peg 34 on the canal worth £300 and duly won with a cracking 109lb 11oz bag of carp, tench and skimmers taken on the pole, pellet and corn.
Egerton was ahead of Pete Newman with 103lb 5oz and Steve Pomery on 99lb 10oz, which consisted of a 70lb bag of skimmers and tench plus three carp.
Others: Graham Maton 78lb 1oz and Simon Hambidge 77lb 3oz.
But the frosts did bite into results in the Saturday Open on Greenridge Farm where weights were lower than of late.
Dave Parvin was clear of the field in first place with 42lb 8oz of carp taken on the pole and pellet from peg ten on Canal 1. Way back in second place was Keith Theobald on 28lb 6oz from peg 18 on Canal 2, third Colin Stark with 23lb from peg 20 on Canal 2.
